You are very brave coming up and telling us your life story it was very inspiring. Thanks for trying to fight for our rights. If it wasn't for you and all those other people like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. we would still be out in the old schools, no text books, no paper, no decent lunches. At least, you cared.

Hello,

My name is --- --- and I am a 16 year old Junior who attends
Bishop McNamara High School. Today was Life Day @ our school and Shujaa Graham,
gave us the pleasure of visiting to talk about his personal experience with
the "system" and how he was wrongly accused. Though many have probably already
said this , his talk was DEFINITLY an inspiration for me and touched me
deeper than I could ever express to you in words. I never thought about the death
penalty or the processes that take place in condemning a person, mainly
because that whole "scene" is so far away from my life and isn't talked about very
much. Today he took, what must have been a frightening experience for him,
and placed it right in front of our faces. Even though I'd already been
through previous speakers today ,for the first time, i not only heard what he was
saying but FELT it in my heart.

The beginning of his testimony was like starting a new book that you
know your not gonna want to put down, even if you don't read much. With his
first tear mine soon followed. The whole story was amazing to me and more than
inspiring. He is definitly a special person and a strong man. At the end of his
testimony he left us with a quote that a condemned inmate told him. It spoke
of happiness and how the people who acquire the most aren't always the
happiest people, but it's those who make the most of what they have who are happy.
And how those who cry find happiness.... etc. I would really appreciate if
you could send me the quote or display it on your website. I'd love to copy it
and put it on my bedroom wall so that I don't lose that inspiration.

I really wish I could express fully how i feel about the presentation ,
but it's hard to put into words. I appreciate your time and wish to see him
back again soon.

Thank You,

J. R.
